Two of my wife’s expensive Japanese kitchen knives had extensive chipping. No telling what they had been used to cut. The Spyderco brown rods would’ve taken forever to remove that much metal so I bought these. They were better than the brown rods but it still would’ve taken forever. I did most of the metal removal with a coarse DMT diamond stone plate and touched up the bevels with these followed by the brown rods. Still left them rather toothy. Then I sharpened four of my Stretch knives with these followed by the brown rods. Happy with the results.
These rods have added a new dimension to the sharpening task. They were densely populated with diamonds out of the container and fit the Sharpmaker perfectly.
