Description

Designed by company co-founder Sal Glesser, the Temperance was one of Spyderco’s earliest fixed blade models. Now this classic design is back as a limited-edition Sprint Run, showcasing a gray-colored fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle and a full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ blade crafted from CPM CRU-WEAR. Specially formulated to offer both superior wear resistance and toughness, CRU-WEAR’s advanced alloy composition is further enhanced by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process to ensure an ultra-fine, extremely homogeneous grain structure. Faithful to the original, the knife’s ergonomic handle is injection molded directly onto the tang of the blade and features a series of bilateral “dimples” to enhance its texture and provide pivot points for grip-change maneuvers. This remarkable resurrection of the Temperance comes complete with a custom-molded Boltaron® sheath with a versatile G-Clip™ attachment.

    Spyderco excellence

Posted by Trevor on 1st Jul 2026

I'm glad I was able to pick up the Sprint run of the Temperance from Spyderco. I missed it when it was initially released and picked up a Temperance 2. The knife feels good in hand. The indentations on the handle make grip changes flow smothly. The only issue I have is that the handle is grey. That can be remedied by grip tape or spray paint if your so inclined. I believe the serrated Temperance comes with a black handle. That's just me nitpicking. It's a great knife. I'm glad I was able to get one . The sprint runs tend to go quickly.
