In close cooperation with Crucible® Industries, we have developed CPM SPY27, a particle metallurgy stainless steel containing a proprietary mix of alloys, including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen, and cobalt. This remarkable composition, enhanced by the amplifying effects of cobalt and the state-of-the-art Crucible Particle Metallurgy process, is produced exclusively for Spyderco.

This supercharged version of the popular Para 3 Lightweight enhances all the proven features of the standard version with its high-performance CPM SPY27 blade.

    Lightweight EDC knife

    First of all thank you National Knives for having items in stock with a great price and very fast shipling. I will be a repeat customer. The Para3 lightweight is a great lightweight option. It's perfect most everyday cutting tasks. You hardly know it's in your pocket due to its size and weight. SPY27 was a great steel choice for this model. It's stainless, so corrosion is not a problem under normal conditions. It takes a very fine edge and holds up about as well as S30V or S35VN. I feel it sharpens relatively easy and gets sharper than either of those two steels. Overall the Para3 lightweight with SPY27 is a great choice if you like the lightweight platform.

    So the SPY-27 Lightweight Para 3 is an awesome knife. Looking forward to carrying it. I'm glad I bought it with Nationalknives. The shipping was super quick, well packed and they even threw in a free microfiber towel which I was super stoked on. You can never have enough of those! I'll be back to shop here again!
