Description
Bill Moran is heralded as the father of modern Damascus steel forging and founder of the American Bladesmith's Society. During his retirement years, Bill Moran collaborated with Spyderco on a fixed blade design that continues as a top seller even now, years after Bill's passing in 2007.
Categorized as a mid-sized blade, the Moran is a true workhorse designed for cutting performance with a drop-point VG-10 stainless steel blade coated in non-reflective black carbon nitride. The blade is flat-ground with an arcing belly, ending with just enough tip-point for detailed cutting and caping. The FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handle is inlayed on both sides with Krayton insets offering a rubbery texture that eliminates slipping while keeping the knife secure in the hand, even if that hand is wet, cold or gloved.
