The Burmese Hunter Machete is the first in a series of knives based off of the Thai Dha swords of Southeast Asia. This particularly fast machete was designed by Joe Flowers to be a fast-moving thin machete that can work very well for both martial arts, and bush use. Inspired by the hunters who look for Burmese Pythons in the Everglades, this 20” machete is ready for fast work.

CONDOR TOOL & KNIFE BURMESE HUNTER MACHETE CTK1035-20.2-HC 1075 HC BLADE -SHEATH

I ordered a second one to properly practice Krabi-krabong, as these are preferably held in one hand for the martial art. It came in undamaged packaging. The product itself was unharmed from shipping. This one came with the same extras as the first, a cloth and sticker. The tanning on the sheath is a lighter brown than the first. It is better glued than the first, and more care was taken in shaping the sheath. It is slightly open on the end compared to the first that was sewn shut. The sheath on this newer Burmese Hunter fits slightly looser than the first, but not too loose. In fact, I would say it is just right. I did not get debree from the inside of the sheath on this blade when sheathing/unsheathing. The handle has a lighter brown finish, matching the sheath. Due to the same handle design, there is still parts on the engraving where it seems wood was chipped wider than intended, but once again, you cannot tell from a distance or while holding the machete. The different parts of the machete have varying length from the first. Nonetheless, they are pretty close. The center of balance is in the same place for both machetes. The blade is true but has minor imperfections on the spine. This blade did not come nearly as well-oiled as the first. The price was the same as the first one I bought. The delivery was just as quick, if not quicker. Overall, I am very pleased with the product. Every minor difference between the two machetes gives them individuality while still maintaining the balance of feeling like the same machete. All around, I'm going to rate this one a 4.8. Overall, the sheath was better than the first, and although I am not worried about the imperfect spine, it is an imperfection that the first one didn't have. Still a great product though. Highly recommended; not just for one, but two. These are super lightweight and able to be wielded in one hand easily.

CONDOR TOOL & KNIFE BURMESE HUNTER MACHETE CTK1035-20.2-HC 1075 HC BLADE -SHEATH

Unboxing-The box was beat up from shipment, but after opening, everything was in perfect condition. 5/5 on the box. It came with a cloth and sticker which I was not expecting. 5/5 on "extras", specifically because of the cloth. The blade is perfect with no scratches or chips. It is strong. The blade could be a little sharper but is actually sharper than I was expecting them to ship it with. It came well-oiled. 5/5 on blade. The handle has very minor imperfections. Basically, there is a very fine design that was engraved on the handle. For the most part, it looks great. But some of the cuts are thicker than others giving the appearance of slight chipping when the engraving was done. Nonetheless, these imperfections aren't major. The thicker cuts aren't noticeable while holding the machete. The handle has 5 rivets with a full tang. There is a sixth hole for putting a chord through. The bottom of the handle is pyramid shaped. This is of course great for martial arts, but could also be used in certain survival situations, adding functionality to this machete. 4.9/5 on the handle. The sheath is very well made, but the leather makes the blade look "worn". This of might change over time with care of the blade and sheath. The sheath is very thick leather. The machete fits snug inside of it, but I have been careful not to damage it as the blade is VERY slightly bent vertically while remaining "true" in straightness from side to side. I have used much worse sheaths. This one is actually well made, especially considering how difficult it is to make custom sheaths out of such thick leather. Part of the leather on the sheath is glued down. It arrived partially coming up in one very small spot, but well glued otherwise, leaving it unnoticeable and fully functional. The sheath has a belt loop. Very nice tanned leather. 4.9/5 on the sheath. The price at time of purchase was $50 cheaper than the only other certified website that might have had it in stock. I say this, because I tried purchasing this same machete from that website last year, and it allowed me to purchase it, then approximately 24 hours later sent me an email saying they were out of stock. Long story short, the other website doesn't maintain their inventory list on their website very well. When I purchased from nationalknives.com, the order went through, and on my confirmation email it specifically said that you couldn't reorder because they were out of stock. As I am on this website right now, it accurately says that this product is out of stock. 5/5 on the price. 5/5 on the website's maintenance of product listings, specifically regarding this product.
