This tour-de-force expression of the Stretch 2 XL showcases a blade crafted from D.P.S. 15 Damascus steel. This remarkable material consists of a VG-10 stainless steel core sandwiched between two outer billets of Damascus, each composed of 15 layers of forget-welded steel. When the blade is full-flat ground and acide etched, it reveals its breathtaking 31-layer pattern-welded construction. The elite blade of this knife is then paired with a handle featuring full stainless steel liners and blue Nishijin glass fiber scales. Inspired by a 1,200-year-old Japanese method of textile weaving, this material translates the meticulous, colorful detail of the original Nishijin art form to a stunningly beautiful state-of-the-art glass fiber.

Wow!

Spyderco quality meets Japanese beauty!! I’ve been anxiously waiting to get this ever since Spyderco did a product announcement at the beginning of the year! THANK YOU National Knives for having a wait list system!! You have ALL my business now! The knife is the jewel of my Spyderco collection! Unbelievably beautiful, Damascus is off-the-hook as well. This knife reminds me of water and since my (and my son’s) zodiac signs are both water signs, it’s a fitting heirloom. My son, in the Navy right now, is a bonsai master and goes to Japan yearly. He can’t wait to get it!
